A gag award for being the official bottom 95% of all web sites

I made this website for fun and to live out my childhood dream of being a webmaster. It's all handcoded in ~~the neocities html editor~~ VSCode—and my blood, sweat, tears, and other fluids went into it. You can navigate between what I have using the sitemap, but the site is under pretty heavy construction.

I'm not 'anti-javascript', but I am trying to use it minimally, only where it is required. The site is fully navigable and readable without javascript, even though certain features depend on it (some examples are the tooltips on the home page, the last.fm plugin or the guestbook). That's not to mention that javascript is necessary to keep my site accessible.

Other than that I'm always trying to make this site as accessible as possible (including on mobile devices) so please email me if anything isn't working!!! Emoticon of a person brushing their teeth

Feb. 21, 2024 — I've made an Internet Ad Archive!

I've made an archive of old static image internet ads from the late 1990s and early 2000s! There's so many little gems in there, tell your friends!

Feb. 18, 2024 — Blogs are up!

The blog is finally up!! I went through so many iterations that I made two different pages while procrastinating on it. It's not exactly what I first imagined, but I'm pretty happy with it. There's only one more page I need to get done before all the links on my home page will work. :D

Feb. 11, 2024 — Sitemap, library and guestbook update

The sitemap has now been decorated!! I love how it came out, I coded it while watching the Superbowl lol (Go Birds!). I'm finally satified with how the library looks, I've ripped some assets from the Apple Newsstand, which as kinda the vibe I was going for. The buttons on the guestbook have been changed to look more retro. I've also made /chipotle.

Feb. 4, 2024 — Domain migration and guestbook

This site is now parked at sen.fish! ^^ I've also moved a few pages around and added a guestbook. I've been slowly migrating mp3 files from github to nekoweb now that I can host audio and video files.

My clip art CD-ROM finished downloading—I've added the cool new graphics around the site.

I added a shrines sections that replicates the old DELL website. I also added new images to the recipes section.

Coding:

Make the top-level links in the sitemap h2 tags

Add more media queries to my aquarium so that the fish aren't too big
Create a clean hover effect and design for the links on this page
Update the tab design on my about page to look like folders

Graphics/Art

The dithering effect on my images was done using Dither It!
Some of the background textures are from TextureTown.
The paper texture used for the blog and on the recipes page comes from tilingtextures.com.
The woven fabric texture used on the blog also comes from tilingtextures.com.
The tileable wood background used on the 404 page is this public domain texture from ambientCG.
The fish in my aquarium were ripped from the aquarium screensaver from Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95.
The 3d model of a raccoonfish comes from CadNav.com, which I animated using Blender.
Clip art used on the Shrines page comes from this CD-ROM archived at archive.org.
The images used in the sitemap are edited versions of the buttons found on the Tel Aviv University archive and icons from Windows 95.
The wood texture used in the library was cropped from a screenshot of Apple Newsstand, which I then shoved through this tool.
The blue background on the 404 page comes from Betty's Graphics.

Fonts

The home page uses DOS/V re. ANK24.
The shrines page uses Roboto and Roboto Condensed.
The blog uses Open Sans.

Code

The tooltip effect on the home page was done using the tippy.js plugin.
The 'last listened to' widget is a combination of code from bianca rosa's last.fm widget and PetraPixel's modifications to that code.
The CSS for the 3d books in my library was modified from this generator.
The super cool guestbook widget, which takes advantage of Google Forms, comes from ayano (virtualobserver).
The code used to pull from the Nekoweb API is a modified veresion of maxpixels.moe's code.
