My library
About the library
This page is a selection of the books I have on my bookshelf at home. I intend to fill it out to include most of the books I own. Most of my books come from charity shops or from third-party used book sellers on Amazon or AbeBooks.
This page is also partly an excuse to experiment with the new Popover API now that it's supported in all of the major browsers. If your browser doesn't support the Popover API or isn't up to date, I can't guarantee this page will render as intended.
History of Madness
(Michel Foucault)
I first read Madness and Civilization (the abridged English edition of History of Madness) in high school. It was my first introduction to Foucault. That was a terrible idea. I don't regret it, even if a lot of it went over my head at the time (and still does!). The book has probably been one of the single most influential works on my own political thought.
I bought a copy of History of Madness a few years ago, but I haven't had the time to read it. I really ought to.
